Math
Today we finished the Acadience Concepts and Applications math test. We also worked on the RISE test until morning recess. A few of us finished, but not many, so we'll be continuing tomorrow. Language Arts We edited our combined reports and shared them with each other. We also added a title page and synced our font and font size. This was our first time working on a collaborative project, so it took a while. We talked about terrible first times, (tft's) and how they're just hard but normal. We also went to the library. Science We reviewed balanced and unbalanced forces and Grace and George demonstrated a pull balanced force. Then we went outside to play tug-of-war. After one team won, we brainstormed ways kids could win against adults by sabotaging their push force of the game, the part where they push with their feet. We also talked about how we could make gravity work for us and put the adults on a hill. We tried it with the winning team from before and found that it was so easy to win that way! The other team wanted a turn too. Then we came back in and identified some other pushes and pulls, and discussed our favorite way of how we could win at tug-of-war using science against a group of adults.

Math: We went over last night's homework and talked about how to categorize shapes and quadrilaterals. We then worked through lesson 31 sesson 2 on pages 719-720. They have homework on page 720 tonight. 1. To access the pages online, go to the district portal and log in. Your username is your 9 number and your password is the same one you use for your Chromebooks at school. 2. Find i-ready. 3. This link has great instructions on how to use the bookshelf from home. Print off lesson 31 session 2 pages 715-720 from the workbook and do it. We also did Thursday's morning work and went over the answers. Language Arts Comprehension: We read, "Power for All and In the Wind," as part of our science lesson. Both passages are in our Wonders book. We also recorded two of our readers' theater groups. Grammar: We did Thursday's morning work, reviewing the standards we've learned this year. Spelling: Today I gave them an end of the year assessment of 25 words, the same words they were assessed on the first week of school. We'll compare both lists to see how much they've learned this year. Social Studies: We learned about natural resources and how wind, solar, and water power have benefits and drawbacks. We also discussed using fossil fuels and how using them also have benefits and drawbacks. We made a plan for a town in Nevada to help them best use their natural resources. We also went to music today. |
The Plan. . .My plan is to list what we did each day and the homework for each night on this page. That way you can just click on the date to see the day's entry. I will do my very best to update this daily! Archives
