Hello! I'm Ms. Grover. I grew up in Lodi, California and moved to Utah to go to BYU. But U fans, no stress, I've taken many classes at the U, and even taught a few! I graduated in Elementary Education and taught 4th and 1st grades in Provo. Then I went to USU to get my Masters Degree in Deaf Education. For 6 years I taught with deaf kids and hearing kids in the same classroom, so get ready to learn some sign language! I’ve taught every grade from 1st to 4th. Three times I've gone back to school to get education endorsements in ESL, technology, and another in animals and human health. This is my 28th year teaching, and I love it! This is my sixth year at Upland Terrace, and I'm excited to get to know all of you.

My favorite thing about teaching is finding ways to make learning hands on and fun. If we are enjoying ourselves, we don't notice how hard we're working!
If I’m not doing something school related you might find me out practicing photography or doing Animal Assisted Therapy with my dog Quinn. He snuggles up with kids at hospitals, and grandmas and grandpas at care centers when Covid isn't a thing. I also teach other people how to do animal assisted therapy. In addition, I love to be in the mountains, hike, read, camp, speak Spanish, swim, and quilt. I have 3 dogs. Oakley is my white dog. He's fluffy, funny, and loves to fetch! Quinn's favorite thing to do is go hiking, be where I am, and snuggle. Pi is my newest addition. She is cuddly, silly, and loves people!
Ziggy is our class pet. He's a bearded dragon, and he's 5 years old. You’ll have a chance to care for him this year. He spends most of his day hanging out in his cage, eating super worms and arugula, and watching us. He also loves it when we read to him, and enjoys going on field trips out of his cage where he runs around on the floor!

If you see me outside of school where there's a crowd of people, you might notice that I probably have Oakley with me. He wears a service dog harness, and I'm hanging onto his special leash very tightly! I have a problem with my ears that makes me lose my balance when I'm standing up in a place where lots of things are moving, especially crowds. Oakley is incredibly helpful! He holds very steady so I have something to hang onto. I make adjustments during the school day so that this doesn't affect my teaching, so he doesn't come to school with me, except if I have an appointment before or after school, we go on field trips and sometimes things like Halloween parades and jog-a-thons. During those times he helps me keep my balance. We also take time during those days for him to show off his tricks! Quinn used to do this job, but now he's retired, so he stays home and takes it easy.
